About Jacqueline Murphy, Writer

I’m a hard-wired optimist.

I earned a BA in art and architecture at Smith College and an MFA in literature and creative nonfiction at Bennington College

I’m an Oxford comma fan.

I cry every damn time Spock dies in the The Wrath of Khan.

I’m a former spouse of an Army officer, an experience that left a permanent mark on my perspective and on my writing. You might even call it a tattoo.

Originally from the North Shore of Long Island, New York, I’ve lived on both coasts and am now carving out a life in Richmond, Virginia.
